Elm Diwanya
Elm Diwanya is held monthly for business pioneers in our targeted topics. We will host a number of elite guests to present their experience in their fields. We were delighted in the first month of 2020 to host Dr. Moath Al-Khalaf, an assistant professor at King Saud University in Software Engineering, whose Master's and Ph.D. research "Software Validation" got the best research ranking for 2016.
A Brief History of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is based on computer science, algorithms, statistics, mathematics, data analysis, data management and engineering.
Artificial intelligence is also essentially based on data which help to build a programmable model. There are two basic types
Rules Model
The model is based on specific rules and within a limited framework. This model is considered as the strongest model.
Pattern Model
This model relies on pattern recognition in an unlimited framework of possibilities. It is a successful model, because it focuses on Machine learning, and its applications have been utilized successfully in neural system.
From Complex Problems to Innovative Solutions
At the beginning of 2000, the problem of the accumulation of data operations and Structured Query Language (SQL) emerged due to its slowness in processing big data despite its ease of programming. Google was among the most prominent companies that faced this problem. And to find a fast and affordable solution to structure the data and store them easily. Here are two of the most prominent solution for storing big data:
Google file system

Opportunities and The Demand
The local and international fields of artificial intelligence vary widely, but data in general are highly demanded in market. Many startups rely on data by a number of stages, namely:
Identify existing data through data analysis tools and application analysis tools.
Interpretation of the occurrence of things based on statistical analysis.
Predict sales
Integrate forecasts with the system to create a system of recommendations.
Artificial Intelligence and Saudi Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia’s interest in artificial intelligence was clear when Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques issued an order for the establishment of Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence. It is also seen in the efforts by Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming in regard of adopting talented people in the field of programing. All these steps aim at promoting the digital transformation in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030, providing unprecedented service in the efficiency of government and private performance, and supporting and stimulating entrepreneurship.
